At St Joseph's we undertake a major school review every five years which involves gathering school learning data and input from parents, students and staff via a survey conducted by Insight SRC.
Parents are randomly selected to complete this survey which asks for their perception of school life and learning at St Joseph's. The eldest child of those randomly selected have been sent home with a hard copy of that survey today with notes on arrangements for completion.
If you didn't receive a copy and you would like to participate in the survey, please contact the office by Friday 26th July and I will make arrangements for you to complete the survey.
Thank you Jim Guinan

NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. NAIDOC week celebrations were held all over Australia during the school holidays (7th - 14th July). The NAIDOC week theme for 2019 was ‘Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let's work together for a shared future.’ At St. Joseph’s students in the Junior School engaged in activities to enrich their understanding of Australian indigenous culture.

Unseasonably pleasant weather greeted competitors from across Victoria at the State Cross Country Champs held at Bundoora Park. A record seven students from our school qualified for the event, after competing at the Reid Oval at District level and then running at Deakin University twice at Division and Regional levels.
Hannah McMeel and Mikayli Hoffman took part in the 10 year old race. Lila Wilkinson, Emily Benson, Shaylea Ralston, Will Main and Sam Marris all competed in the 12 year old events. Everyone tried their hardest and achieved pleasing results. Close to 100 runners in each race took to the hilly and muddy course. Lila and Emily were impressive, finishing in the top 50.

Once per term the PSA run a Pizza Day as a "special occasion" lunch option and to raise money for the PSA.
Children can choose from either Garlic or Hawaiian pizza (Gluten Free options available) which are ordered via CDFPay (Canteen ordering system) and provided by Pinkie’s Pizza who are one of our major school sponsors.
There are no canteen orders on Pizza Days and children not wanting to order pizza should bring their lunch from home.
Sorry, no late orders can be accepted.
Thank you to all our canteen volunteers. We are in need of a few more volunteers for Term 3. Training is provided and one shift a term is all you need to commit to.
