Volunteers Needed
We rely on our volunteers and are also in need of more parents to assist. Canteen can only run 5 days a week if we have sufficient volunteers. Can you help?
Training is arranged by our Canteen Co-ordinator Tania Hughes. Please consider volunteering, even if only once per term, all help most appreciated.
SCHOOL CLOSURE AND PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
As previously advertised, St Joseph's will have a pupil free day on Monday 17th June, 2019.
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held at various times on Monday 17th June and Tuesday 18th June. Bookings are now open via PAM. Parents are encouraged to make their own interviews.
Contact the office if you need your PAM login and password. With electronic permission excursion permission forms being implemented in Term 3 we encourage all parents to know how to log into PAM and become familiar with its features.
Parent Teacher Interviews are a chance to discuss your child's first semester report which will be accessed electronically via PAM on Friday 14th June. You will still receive your child's portfolio of work in their assessment folder.
Congratulations to Gold Box winner Henry Hoffmann for packing up chairs after assembly.
Winners of our Gold Box get to go for a swim at the pool. An alternate activity is being planned for Term 3 when the Aquazone pool with be closed for redevelopment works.
The Australian Maths Trust passes on their congratulations and encouragement to all the students who participated in this year's Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT). 19,516 students from 406 schools entered this competition.
At St Joseph's Primary School, students are supported by Mrs Joel Saywell and our school with a weekly class to further their mathematic skills.

Congratulations to the following Grade 6 students: Rory Baulch, Joseph Brown, William Callaghan, Max Collins, Kaitlyn Cust, Zoe Graham, Ava McKenzie, Marco Mentha, Jamieson Mueglitz, Sam Niklaus and Hannah Van de Camp.
Aussie Footy and Teeball/Soccer Practice
The Aussie Footy Program has now finished on Wednesday Nights. However, there will be a practice session on Wednesday night after school for the team to practice for this coming Friday’s competition. It will run between 3:45 - 4:45pm. Tee ball and Soccer Practice will be held this Thursday at Lunchtime with Jeff and Michelle.
Girls Footy Training
Due to the Division Winter Sports being held this Friday the Girls Football Training will not be held this Friday at 11:30am. It will resume next Friday. Thanks to Mr McMillan and Jason McDonough for helping out last Friday with training the team.
District Winter Sports Finals

Last Thursday, we played footy against District Schools and we played against St Pius, Warrnambool East Primary School (WEPS), OLHC and Warrnambool Primary School.
First up, we played against St Pius and we won 37 to 0. In our second game we beat WEPS by 22. Our third match against OLHC we came home victorious and won by 21 points. And in our last game the scores 13 to Warrnambool Primary School and 41 St Joes.
So after a ripper day, we will be off to Divisions on next Friday. Thanks to Mr McMillan and Mr McCombe for training us.
Netball

Yesterday, St.Joseph's held the District Netball Tournament. For our first game we played against St.Pius and had a comfortable win. 31-0.
Next, we played against East Warrnambool who we defeated 22-4. For our third game we took on a competitive Our Lady Help Of Christians, but we were good enough to win 20-4.
For our fourth and final game we played our toughest opponent for the day in Warrnambool Primary School. It was a tight contest but we came away with the win in our last game 12-6.
Winning all of our games saw us finish on top of the ladder and advance to Divisions next Friday. Congratulations to all of our Netballers. Special thanks to Mrs.Chow and Ms.Thomas for coaching and training us.
Soccer

Last Thursday, the St Joseph’s soccer team went to the Jones Oval for a round robin against WEPS, OLHC, St Pius and Warrnambool Primary School.
First we played St Pius and won 9-0. Next we played olhc which we won 6-0. Afterwards, we had a bye and some lunch. In our 3rd game, we played East Warrnambool, it was our most difficult game, though we still won 5-0. Our final game was against Warrnambool Primary School and we won that 8-0 meaning we are off to divisions. We would like to thank Jeff and Mr Gray and all the parents for supporting the team and referees for running the event.
Tee Ball Boys and Girls
Our Boys Tee ball won one game and lost two, but were great sports and played well. The girls won all their matches and won through to the next stage. A big thank you to Michelle for coaching the team over the past few weeks.
Good luck to all our teams competing next week.

Hooptime Years 3/4 and 5/6
Over the next three weekends, starting this coming Saturday 15th, 22nd and 29th June the school will be running basketball clinics for those children interested in competing in the Hooptime Competition next term.
The training will be for Years 3-6 students. Below is a timetable for each age group boys/girls. Parents will need to register their child for these sessions before 3pm this Thursday.
Further details regarding location and what to wear and bring will be made available later in the week.

FOUNDATION ENROLMENTS FOR 2020
A reminder to current families that enrolment forms are available to be collected from the school office for 2020 Foundation enrolments.
Our enrolments opened on Monday 3rd June, 2019 and close at 4:00 pm on Friday 21st June, 2019.
Supervised trading card days for the first half of lunchtime in the Library for Terms 2 and 3 are:

It is important to note that Teachers and Staff are unable to supervise any trading outside of the above times and children bring their album and cards to school at the own risk.

Once per term the PSA run a Pizza Day as a "special occasion" lunch option and to raise money for the PSA.
Children can choose from either Garlic or Hawaiian pizza (Gluten Free options available) which are ordered via CDFPay (Canteen ordering system) and provided by Pinkie’s Pizza who are one of our major school sponsors.
There are no canteen orders on Pizza Days and children not wanting to order pizza should bring their lunch from home.
Please note that there has been an increase of .25c per slice of pizza in line with a price increase from our supplier.
Sorry, no late orders can be accepted.
Thank you to all our canteen volunteers. We are in need of a few more volunteers for Term 3. Training is provided and one shift a term is all you need to commit to.
