PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Michael Gray, Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students and the wider St. Joseph’s Primary School Community, today brings us to the final week of this “most unusual” school year.
Our final assembly was held early this morning with all students and staff; the first time since early Term 1. The excitement of being together was infectious; our students and staff were keen to send off our Year 6 in a manner of gratitude, respect and appreciation. As Mr. Andrew McCombe shared; this year it would be easy to highlight what the group missed out on; but rather Andrew highlighted the fact that our Year 6 students embraced every opportunity, were resilient and achieved outstanding results in what was a challenging environment.
The final assembly was recorded and will be available when editing is completed. The assembly recognised special awards, student achievements and time to thank many people for their contribution to our school. The assembly was concluded with three short videos depicting the Year 6 students’ highlights. All presentations will be available for a period of time in recognition families were unable to attend. The covid-19 gathering rules prevent how many we could have present, given 600 students and 80 staff. I do encourage Year 6 families to especially view the Arts film at the end and the Foundation to Year 5 student “Guard of Honour” to farewell the Year 6 students.
