PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Matthew O'Brien, Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students and the wider St. Joseph’s Primary School Community,
On Friday we celebrated World Teachers’ day. His prayer was shared in a Diocesan newsletter.
Beatitudes for Teachers
God of Wisdom,
Blessed are those who care for the young
Blessed are those who share laughter
Blessed are those who foster sharing
Blessed are those who encourage risk
Blessed are those who show possibilities
Blessed are those who make learning fun
Blessed are those who take time to reflect
Blessed are those who show patience
Blessed are those who build teams
Blessed are those who live out community
Blessed are those who recognise potential
Blessed are those who engage the learner
Blessed are those who inspire confidence
Blessed are those who allow for quiet times
Blessed are those who foster creativity
Blessed are those who believe in others
Blessed are those who affirm and encourage
Blessed are those who teach
Amen
Grandparents Day
What a wonderful celebration of family and unconditional love we enjoyed together on Thursday. The school was bursting with all of the visitors on site. Great to be a part of such special relationships that children share.
Thanks to our Year 6 families who provided the morning tea and to Mrs Lee and the teachers for organising the activities. Special mention to the Mrs McIntyre Hand and the Year 2 children who performed a percussion ensemble for our guests.

Foundation Extended Day
Our Foundation students enjoyed an extended day on Monday to participate in activities beyond the school day. After their fruit platters the four classes rotated through a disco, cooperative games, free time on the playground and yoga. Thanks again to the teachers and staff who supported such an engaging afternoon.
Digital Technology Research
Digital Technology use and associated psychosocial well-being: child and teacher perspectives.
We are inviting students in Foundation at St Joseph's to take part in a research project regarding children’s typical use of digital technology across home and school settings.
St Josephs is participating in a study of children’s digital technology use and wellbeing being undertaken by researchers from Deakin University, and the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child.
The research being conducted has a positive focus in exploring child and teacher perspectives regarding the typical experience of children with digital technology, alongside discovering what aspects of these experiences may prove most beneficial for young primary students’ well-being.
All Foundation Parents will receive further information via email directly asking for permissions for their child to be involved in the research project.
