PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Matthew O'Brien, Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students and the wider St. Joseph’s Primary School Community,
A Prayer For Father’s Day Gracious God, Bless fathers and father figures with love and faithfulness So that their children flourish and grow in joy and compassion. May all fathers be inspired by the life of St Joseph who thought first and then acted. Amen |
This week we celebrate fathers and fatherhood. I am thinking of all of the dads in our school and wish them a happy Father’s Day and hope that you enjoy the day with your family.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to making last week such an exciting week at St Josephs.
The disco was a huge success, highlighted by the senior school mosh pit. Our PSA members put a significant amount of time and thought into making a safe and exciting evening for everyone. A special thanks to the teachers who supported the evening as well.
Book Week activities punctuated the week with a pop up library, the book stall, colouring competitions and art activities. The highlight of Book Week was the parade in the hall. As usual the costumes were varied and creative. Great to see so many parents and grandparents attend and enjoy a laugh with the children. Special thanks to Lynn Hyland, Emily Lloyd and Layla Monk for their enthusiasm and effort in organising the week. The Mini Vinnies book sale raised over $350 and more importantly generated a lot of enthusiastic chatter as the books found new owners.
We also celebrated science with experiments in the classroom and a science show organised by Candice Grant.
Congratulations to the children who received the Eucharist for the first time on the weekend.
Finally, the fun continues this week with Father’s Day Breakfast this Friday and the drawing of our $10,000 Business Raffle.
Isn’t it great to be involved in such a vibrant school community!
