BOYS STATE FOOTBALL
On Wednesday, 22 boy’s footballers made it to the state finals in Melbourne. We were half asleep when we left on a freezing cold morning at 5:30am.
Our first game was against Beaumaris primary school. It was a hard-fought match by the boys, but we managed to win 14-1. We were so exhilarated after a big win.
Our second match was against Glen Katherine primary school, unfortunately, we lost. The scores were 2-17, heading back to our club rooms our spirits were low.
In our final game, we played St Paul’s Warragul. We were down at half time but we came out on top and kicked away, we won the match 36-15. We finished 3rd overall. We were super proud of our efforts.
All day long, the boys played hard, and showed great sportsmanship and respect, by shaking hands with our opposition and thanking the officials.
Thank you to Mr McMillan and parents for supporting us. We were really grateful to have the opportunity to play at the highest level.
