SPORTS NEWS
Week 7 saw another very busy week in the Physical Education/Sports side of things at St. Josephs! It was great to see students representing the school in such a fantastic manner, whether it was interschool sport, or our school athletics carnival.
Lawn Bowls
Mr Jim Guinan, Layla Monk, and our awesome Lawn Bowls team ventured to Ararat on Wednesday the 16th of March to compete in the Regional competition. The team did a fantastic job and finished fourth overall on the day, congratulations to all that competed.
Athletics Carnival
On Thursday 17th March we held our middle/senior school athletics day, here at St. Josephs. We are so grateful to have our amazing grounds, meaning we are able to hold our sports here at school instead of going elsewhere. From my point of view, the day was a huge success. All students should be extremely proud of their efforts, and going off all the smiling faces, they seemed to really enjoy themselves as well. Age champions from the day will be announced next week. A huge thank you for all the help and support to everyone that volunteered their time in one way or another to ensure this day was a memorable one for our students.

Regional Swimming
On 18th March our amazing Swimming team travelled via bus to Horsham. In trying conditions (quite hot), students competed and represented themselves and the school in a very impressive manner. All students did a great job, but an extra special mention goes to Zoe Davis who finished first overall in breaststroke and has qualified for States! Well done to all.

Junior Sports Day – Change of Date
We now look forward to our Junior Sports day coming in week 10 on Thursday 7th April. Stay tuned for more details about this day.
