During week 4 of Term 3, 63 children from Year 3 - 6 sat the Australian Mathematics Competition. Several hundreds of thousands of students entered the 2021 competition, one of the world’s great competitions.

They have all achieved amazing results considering that we had only been back at school for 7 days because of a lockdown (I’m not even going to guess what number that was!). Then, this was the week that we found out Thursday lunchtime that we were going back into lockdown, only to be back at school on the following Tuesday! Doesn’t that seem like a lifetime ago!! 

The children had to answer 30 questions covering the areas of Number, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Problem Solving and Statistics and Probability.

It is all done online, with the children having access to a scribble page and that is it.

Congratulations to Jack Kitto for receiving the best results in the school and he receives an additional certificate.

Year 6 - Lachlan Gome, Alexei Khaidurov and Michael Lougheed.

We are very proud of our mathematicians and we hope that they feel proud of their results.  It’s a great opportunity to give something a go and push ourselves to do the best we can.  Well done everyone.
