Winter Sports - Football, Netball, Tee Ball and Soccer (Grades 5 and 6)
Children in Years 5 and 6 will bring home a note with preferences for winter sports this week. Please ensure that your child chooses their preferences carefully. These preferences will be used to organise tryouts and practice sessions in the coming weeks.
Aussie Footy - Grades 5 and 6
During Term 2, the students (boys and girls) are invited to participate in Aussie Footy. The program aims to encourage all school age children in Years 5 and 6 to have a go at Aussie Rules Footy.
Signing and returning this permission forms means that your child is available to play each Wednesday night between 4 and 5pm for a period of five weeks prior to the lightning premiership to be held on Thursday 6 June. The dates are Wednesday 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th May and Wednesday 5th June.
Playing in this Aussie Footy does not guarantee a place in the lightning premiership team. However, it is a great opportunity to improve your skills and to learn how to play as part of a team. Please also be aware games are played at St Joseph’s and other schools in the Warrnambool District, transport arrangements for getting children to the venues is the responsibility of parents. More details will be sent home this week with children for those interested.
Cross Country
The school cross country will be held on Friday 10th May 2019. Please let the school know if you would like to help out with marshalling an event on the day. The event will take place around the school grounds. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated on the day. Each helper will be required for 8:45am - 11:00am or 11:20am - 12:30pm.
Basketball Clinics
Finally, a big thank you to Michael McGorm and the Warrnambool Seahawks for organising basketball clinics for the middle school on Monday and Tuesday. The children will pick up some wonderful tips and tricks.
