INTERIM PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Jim Guinan, Interim Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students and the wider St. Joseph’s Primary School Community,
Welcome back to Term 2. I hope you had the chance to spend some relaxing and fun times with your children and friends over Easter and the following two weeks.
There will be certainly much learning and fun to be had over the next term with many activities planned and changes to negotiate and manage.
As was announced on the Thursday school broke up, Mr Matthew O’Brien has been appointed Principal of St Joseph’s Primary School. Matthew is well known to the St Joseph’s community. Matthew has been a past parent of the school. His wife Monica works at St Joseph’s on a part time basis. In recent times Matthew has been working as a teaching and learning officer with the Catholic Education Office. During this time he has also worked with teaching staff at St Joseph’s.
Matthew will start in his role as Principal Week 6 of this term. In the interim I have assumed responsibilities and am looking forward to working with everyone at St Joseph’s in a different role for the five week interim.
On the last Thursday of term we also had the Junior School Sports. The results were announced on the day but are published for your information, Green - 1148 points, Blue-957, Red – 887 points and Gold – 866 points.
Congratulations to all involved in the sports. Children appeared to enjoy the day. Special thanks go to Emily Lloyd and Matt McMillian for organising the sports and the teachers for preparing the children for their participation so well.
School Fun Run
Over the holidays some monies were being finalised and will be concluded by Friday this week. Next week I will be able to give you a final tally for this inaugural fundraising event.
Jim Guinan, Interim Principal.
