St Joseph’s School Book Fair is fast approaching!
The Scholastic Book Fair starts in Week 7 from Monday 16th November, 2020.
The students will view the books available for purchasing during their Library and Digital Technology lessons. Traditionally the Scholastic Book Fair is an interactive opportunity to browse and select books to purchase from the shelving units that they provide the school with. We are fortunate that the current COVID-19 restrictions have eased enough for us to still manage this fantastic Fundraising Event for our School’s Learning Resource Centre. St Joseph’s School will be lucky enough to gain a percentage of ALL sales of books from the Fair, in the way of a voucher for us to purchase more amazing books and valuable resources for our school.
Each student will bring home a Fair pamphlet, showing a small section of the books on offer. On the back is a wishlist where your child can write the books he or she is interested in, after viewing the full book selection in their class time next week.
If you wish to purchase some or all of the wishlist you may do so a number of ways:
- Pay online at www.scholastic.com.au/payment (Be sure to click on Book Fairs payment NOT Book Club) with a credit card. You will receive an 8 digit receipt number which needs to be recorded on the Wish List with the amount paid on it. Your child is then required to bring this Wish List/Receipt Number slip back into the Library so they will be given the books paid for at the Book Fair.
- You can come into the school through the front door of the Library to make a Credit Card payment in the Library.
- Cash/Eftpos facilities available in the School Library
To add a little smile to everyone's faces and give the children something to look forward to we are introducing Wonderful Wednesdays. A chance to dress up, or perhaps even stay in your PJs, and have a bit of fun.
This Wednesday the theme is "Hat Day". Students studying at home are encouaged to wear a hat to their Google Meets and children attending the onsite care and supervision program may like to add a hat to their school uniform for the day. Of course staff will also be joining in on the fun.
Happy Birthday to children celebrating their birthday this week.
Isla Dixon, Jack Haynes, Sienna Byron, Lexie Keane, Daisy Brown, Eli Oakley, Mia Robinson, Lewis McCombe, Harry Chatfield and Edward O’Connor.
2020 FIRST EUCHARIST (GRADE 4)
Congratulations to the 46 candidates who have registered for the First Eucharist program. Please keep these children in your prayers as they prepare for the Sacrament of First Eucharist.
Father John Fitzgerald and the Religious Education team at St Joseph's Primary School have prepared a video to replace the usual face to face parent Information session.
It contains all the necessary information for you to support your child during this program.
First Eucharist program booklets are now available for collection from the foyer at School.
Week 1 of the program will officially commence on Monday 24th August but feel free to start earlier if you wish.
Please contact the Parish Office on (03) 5562 2231 if you have any queries.
We would like to include some photos in our newsletter of families at home during this remote learning time. Perhaps you could take a photo of your child/ren sitting doing their school work, participating in a google meet or doing some Japanese, Art, Craft or Sport.
We would love to see everyone's faces!
Please email your photos through to Kellie at kmentha@sjwarrnambool.catholic.edu.au and we will put them into a photo gallery in the newsletter.
