Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, Students and the wider St. Joseph’s Primary School Community,
Student Reports
At 4pm on Friday 27th June, Semester 1 reports will be released via the Parent Access Module (PAM) accessible from the SZApp and our website. These reports provide families with information about children’s progress socially, academically and behaviorally. The written report will be accompanied by each child’s “Work Sample Folder”. This folder will contain examples of the children’s work across the semester. It may include a range of subjects, assessment pieces, unedited work and published pieces.
The report will show your child’s level of attainment and indicate their growth over time.
I draw you attention to the graphic for writing in this example which shows a child working 6 months below the expected level. Please note that this child's reporting software identifies this child as being “at standard” in the right hand column. Both of these pieces of information need to be taken into consideration to understand that the child is working within the year level curriculum but not achieving all outcomes taught. At times, when the reports are viewed on a phone families can miss the position of the dots and only read the “at standard” which does not present the full picture. With this in mind I advise everyone to use a tablet or computer to read the reports.
Parent Teachers Interviews
Following the reports we will be conducting the mid-year Parent Teacher Interviews. These are designed for two way communication between parents and teachers to further discuss children’s progress. These are held from 3:40pm - 6:00pm on Monday 30th June and Tuesday 1st July.
Parent Teacher Interviews can be booked via PAM are are now open.
Parents are welcome to book a phone call or come into school for a face to face meeting.

School Netball
chool netball was a fun experience, and it was great to play the sport we love with all our friends.
In our first round, we played all the Catholic schools in Warrnambool, and we were lucky to advance to the next round. We then won our second round, and we were very fortunate to make it to Ballarat for Regionals, where we then won all of our games and made it to the final. Sadly, we lost by one point, but it was still a great effort by all of the girls.
In the final, we were up against Sacred Heart Colac and they were a good challenge. It was a great final. Good job on the mixed netball, you all played a great game.
Thank you so much to Miss Wormald, she was an amazing coach and was so supportive, and thank you to everybody who helped out and to all the parents for supporting us.

Happy Birthday to children celebrating their birthday this week.

Protect Your Family This Flu Season
The flu can be very serious, especially for children. That’s why annual flu vaccination is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over.
The flu vaccine helps reduce the risk of severe illness and protects not only your child, but the wider school community. It’s important that you keep your child home if they are feeling unwell. Symptoms like a sore throat, cough, or runny nose can spread illnesses to others.
The vaccine is free for eligible groups, including:
• Children aged 6 months to under 5 years
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and older
• Adults aged 65 and over
• Pregnant women
• People with medical conditions that increase the risk of severe flu
You can book a flu vaccination through your local immunisation provider. While the vaccine is free for eligible high-risk groups, there may be
an administration fee—check with your healthcare provider.
For more information, visit my.gh.org.au/flu.
Let’s work together to keep our school community healthy this winter!
