Term 4 Book Business!
Big announcement …
We have been lucky enough to be chosen for a special guest to visit our school on Monday 11th December. His name is ‘Stig’ and he is a well-known narrator of many audio books available in Australia, namely ‘The Treehouse Series’ written by Andy Griffiths.
Our special guest will be coming to St Joseph’s Primary School to promote the State program ‘Big Summer Read.’
If you think your children would be keen to register and be in the running to win some great prizes.
It will be a fantastic opportunity to maintain their literacy skills that they’ve developed this year and instil a love of reading for life!
Feel free to email me with any questions at elloyd@sjwarrnambool.catholic.edu.au

Cricket Report
On Friday 3rd November, St Joseph's Primary School Year 6 boys and girls cricket teams attended the T20 division cricket in Hamilton.
The girls team won their first game by a few runs and it was a fairly close game. Their second game was lost by a fair bit but they stayed positive and were ready for their next game but sadly they lost that. The girls stayed to watch the boys play, as they had done all their previous games. The girls were a little bit disappointed but they all still had heaps of fun and were glad that they had the opportunity to participate in division cricket.
The boys team played Allansford first. We lost the toss and they chose to bowl. The boys started off pretty good but they knew it was going to be a challenge. In the end of that innings we ended up with 125 runs, then we started bowling. We started off a bit slow but Oscar Stewart took an amazing catch and got everyone pumped up for the rest of the day. We managed to sneak away with the win as we beat them by 34 runs. Throughout the day we managed to keep winning. In the semi’s we were up against Dunkeld who had not lost all day. We managed to bat really well at the start and we made a score of 210. We knew this was a good score and we managed to sneak away with another win. We moved on to the Grand Final against Allansford. We knew we could beat them so we were feeling confident and ready. We batted and bowled very well and we ended up winning and the final score was 167 to 52. Our key players were Noah as our batter, Lachie as our bowler, and Oscar as our keeper. We would like to thank Mark for driving the bus and the parents, teacher and trainee who came and supported us.
Thank you to families who have completed the Year 1 Aquazone swimming form.
This information enables Aquazone to put your child in an appropriate swimming group. If the form is not completed then Aquazone will place your child in the lowest swimming level.
A reminder to please complete the form if you have not yet done so.
As we prepare for the end of year we invite our volunteers that have assisted over 2023 to Drinks and Nibbles. The School Advisory Council, PSA members, Canteen volunteers, Classroom Coordinators and anyone that has assisted volunteering in our school community over the year.
Volunteers include committee attendees, classroom and swimming helpers, excursion and sporting volunteers, canteen volunteers, Mothers Day stall and Fathers Day breakfast volunteers, disco committee and helpers on the night, and anyone else who has volunteered their time at our school this year.
The PSA are providing a BBQ lunch for the students of a sausage in bread and Zooper Dooper on Orientation Day, Tuesday 12th December.
If you are able to assist on the day your help would be greatly appreciated.
